I believe that Legal Process Improvement will become even more important and prevalent as the impact of the Legal Services Act, challenging economic conditions and increasing client demands continues.
My goal is to make this blog the “one stop shop” for thoughts, resources and insights in this area.

I’ll leave you to make your mind up about that once you’ve read some of the posts. I won’t try to convince you here, but just to give you a bit of background….
The boring credentials bit… (I promise to keep it short!)
Over the last decade, I’ve worked with and advised businesses on how to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of processes and operations.
I started out implementing Lean and Six Sigma in the Pharmaceutical industry, mainly in the UK and east coast of the USA. Following that, I’ve worked with a wide variety of businesses to improve processes including; financial services, business process outsourcers, retailers and supply chains.
I’ve been working with law firms since 2007 (mainly those delivering ‘commodity’ legal services). Firms have been delivering these commodity services in ‘efficient’ ways for many years now, but it feels as though the complex, highend legal services that are more variable, customised and subject to more client input are still delivered the same way that they have been for decades.
Delivering complex legal services profitably – how to do it?
Over the last 2 years, I have been completing research (in practice and academia) into how we can deliver these more complex services in a way that improves efficiency, productivity and profitability.
